Momentae begins with the part of the performance human hearing understands most instinctively: the voice, the melody, and the recognizable body of an instrument. A single wideband driver carries that musical center without a conventional crossover handing it from one forward-facing driver to another. Voices occupy a believable position. Instruments retain their shape. Fine detail remains attached to the source that created it. Momentae then adds what traditional single-driver loudspeakers often leave behind. Its opposed passive radiators give bass real pitch, weight, and momentum. Used gently and indirectly, the ambience tweeter adds air, height, and spatial energy without pulling attention from the centered performance. Most conventional loudspeakers divide the musical center between a woofer and tweeter. Momentae avoids that presence-range handoff by building around a modern wideband driver capable of carrying voices, melody, and instrumental body as one continuous source.
This is not old-school full-range minimalism for its own sake. The wideband driver preserves the focus and immediacy of a point source, while the AER ambience system adds openness above it and opposed passive radiators extend its low-frequency foundation.

Panthaerstein AER Ambience
A wideband loudspeaker can sound wonderfully connected, but its upper-frequency output becomes increasingly directional as frequencies rise. Within CAT Alignment, Momentae uses an upward-firing soft-dome tweeter as a gently blended ambience source—not as a conventional forward-facing tweeter taking over from the main driver.
The goal is not to spotlight the treble or artificially enlarge every recording. AER adds air, height, and spatial energy around the performance while preserving the coherent musical center the wideband driver establishes.
What it means in the room: Voices and lead instruments remain firmly located, while the space around them feels more open and dimensional. The soundstage can become expansive without sacrificing the coherence that makes a wideband loudspeaker so compelling.

Opposed Passive Radiator Bass System
Small cabinets and deep bass usually conflict. A ported design may need long ductwork, high air velocity, or compromises that can introduce chuffing, airflow compression, and internal midrange leakage.
Momentae Blade uses opposed passive radiators to help the slim cabinet reach surprisingly deep while keeping bass fast, textured, and controlled.
What it means in the room: You hear the skin of the drum, the body of the note, and real low-end weight — without turning the speaker into a visually heavy floorstander.

Integrated stand Geometry
Momentae’s cabinet is intentionally narrow and visually light, but its proportions are not cosmetic. The dedicated stand places the wideband driver at the intended listening height, establishes the subtle 3° inclination, provides a concealed cable path, and gives the slender enclosure a stable connection to the floor . The loudspeaker and stand were designed as one object, allowing acoustic geometry and visual restraint to reinforce each other.
What it means in the room: Momentae has the presence and proper geometry of a serious floorstanding loudspeaker without bringing its visual or physical mass into the room. It is positioned for focused listening while remaining easy to live with.

Momentae does not require a dedicated listening room, but thoughtful placement will improve center focus, spatial scale, and bass balance.
Build a Comfortable Listening Triangle
Try to place the listening area and your speakers into an equilateral triangle. After placement, fine-tune speaker positions for center focus and stage width.
Give It at Least 6 Feet
A little distance helps the speaker sound complete and spacious. Adjust speaker spacing until the center image becomes solid without narrowing the stage. Keeping equal distance between you and your speakers is ideal.
Sit About 8–12 Feet Away
Designed for normal seated listening distances where the wideband driver, AER tweeter, and 3° stand geometry integrate naturally. Use the adjustable feet to fine-tune the speakers to “ear height”
Toe-In 15–30° Off Axis
Change toe-in in small, equal increments. More direct alignment will generally increase focus; a greater off-axis angle will usually soften the upper balance and broaden the presentation. Taste varies.

Wall distance and nearby boundaries affect low-end weight and texture, so small placement changes can help the passive radiator bass come alive- or bloomy.
Move the speakers as needed
Every room and listener preference differs. The included feet make small placement experiments easier than spikes. Make adjustments over time until your speakers are dialed in.

Solid Hardwood
The cabinet uses a solid-hardwood perimeter with a plywood baffle and rear panel. Internal wool-felt lining controls unwanted energy without treating the enclosure as an inert plastic shell.
Detailed Craftsmanship
The recessed front plane, restrained shadow details, and magnet-mounted grille are resolved from the viewing angles encountered in an actual room. Integrated stands are as functional as beautiful.
Thooughtful Finishes
Cardas binding posts provide a durable signal connection. Dedicated hardwood stands establish the intended geometry. Isolation feet provide a stable, floor-friendly interface. Even the inside of the grille frame has diffraction control.

Momentae’s dark-brown rear finish complements the cabinet while recalling the warmth and hand-built character of vintage audio equipment. Clean hardware and details ensure the back feels as considered as the front.

Momentae’s architecture only succeeds when none of its individual elements calls attention to itself. The wideband driver has to stay coherent, the upfiring tweeter has to add space without calling attention to itself, the passive radiators have to support bass without slowing the speaker down, and the voicing network has to add body without dulling the immediacy. That final balance is measured, adjusted, and listened into place as a complete loudspeaker system.

The musical center starts with the wideband driver. The rest of the system is tuned around that priority: preserve focus, then add air, bass weight, and scale without making the speaker feel divided.
Ambient Spacial Energy
Panthaerstein’s upfiring AER tweeter is voiced as an ambience layer above the wideband driver, helping restore upper-air energy and vertical scale as the main driver becomes more directional. It expands the room around the performance without becoming a separate treble event.
Bass Tuned for Texture
The passive radiator system is adjusted for useful depth, punch, and drum texture. We did not add bloom or a midbass hump or over extend the driver to chase a lower-spec F3 at the expense of clarity, speed, and tonal honesty.
Voiced by Measurement and Listening
The voicing network adds tonal weight and balance where the alignment needs support. We preserve the speed, presence, and immediacy that make wideband architecture alluring.

At Panthaerstein, we believe a loudspeaker should be an act of respect—both to the musicians who recorded the performance and the architecture of the room where it comes alive. We reject the sterile, mass-produced cabinets wrapped in plastic vinyl or veneer that dominate modern audio, choosing instead to elevate the listening experience through a deeper connection to raw materials and acoustic physics.
Interior surfaces are sealed. Wool felt is cut and fitted by hand. Bracing, wiring, damping, and passive networks are designed and assembled as carefully as the parts you can see. Components are selected for the work they need to do—not for the length of the specification sheet.

Momentae is the natural choice when greater body, bass authority, and large-scale ease matter most. Its wide, U-shaped presentation creates a broad, enveloping soundstage with convincing depth.
Sveltae is the natural choice when an exceptionally narrow form and a quicker, more immediate presentation better suit the listener and the room. Its more intimate, V-shaped presentation brings the musical center forward while the surrounding stage extends behind it.
Yes. Its shallow cabinet and passive-radiator bass alignment were designed for near-wall placement. Begin with the rear of the cabinet [WALL CLEARANCE — MEASURE] from the front wall, then adjust in small increments to balance bass weight and definition.
Does Momentae require a dedicated listening room?
No. It was specifically designed for serious listening in finished living spaces. Correct speaker spacing, a centered listening position, and a minimum listening distance of approximately six feet matter more than turning the room into an audio laboratory. But they wouldn’t mind their own room, either.
Are the stands included?
Yes. The hardwood stands, 3° inclination, and isolation feet are part of Momentae’s acoustic and physical design and are included with every pair.
Is Momentae a single-driver loudspeaker?
Not in the purist sense. We take a hybrid/purity approach. A single wideband driver carries the voice and musical center. Dual passive radiators support the bass, while the upward-firing AER system adds upper-air and spatial energy. Our speakers do use minimal crossover and BSC circuits to achieve a balanced presentation. This preserves point-source coherence where it matters most without retaining the familiar limitations of a bare full-range design.
Will I need a subwoofer?
Probably not. Momentae is designed to deliver substantial, musically complete bass on its own. If your room, taste, or favorite recordings call for a little more, Momentae also responds very well to careful low-frequency EQ. Turn up the bass. We won’t tell the purists.
A subwoofer may still make sense if you want the lowest cinematic effects, unusually high playback levels, or greater low-frequency output in a very large room.
What amplifier does Momentae require?
I’m not jumping into that argument. Choosing an amplifier is part art, part science, and part of the fun. If you are considering Momentae, you probably already have opinions about tubes, solid-state, power, voicing, and everything else people enjoy arguing about.
Momentae is not a high-sensitivity loudspeaker, but it does not require heroic power. A well-designed amplifier delivering roughly 30–150 watts per channel should be plenty in most rooms. Anything more is likely overkill.
These are serious listening speakers, not party monsters. If you are looking for somewhere to send 300 watts on a Saturday night, Momentae probably is not the speaker for you. Beyond that, choose what belongs in your system. Building it is part of the pleasure.
Can I request a custom finish?
Momentae is offered in a considered selection of standard finishes rather than as an unrestricted bespoke product. This keeps the design coherent and ensures every pair meets the same production and finishing standard.
Are the grilles included?
Yes. The magnet-mounted grilles are included with the pair and treated to minimize diffraction around the wideband driver.
